Perigeux also has a very well-preserved Roman city beneath it (found only in the 20th century, i think? - which accounts for the completeness of the find). This was the inner part of a temple built to honor some local deities that the Romans absorbed.























And, outside a museum built over one particularly well-preserved Roman house. Not sure what this is, but it was pretty. Right about here was where we were trying to decide if Magdalena, who hadn't napped all day, had it in her to survive a second museum, and Daniel said, "please can we go this other museum today, for a special treat?"
