so somehow i must have heard the story of how my big brother managed to get his first big shiner on his forehead right in time for his first birthday and all the birthday pictures. not one to be outdone, i managed two in one day, just in time for my own birthday. mom and dad are each glad that one happened on the others' watch. they swelled up quite quickly and then were back down again just as quickly, and are nearly gone three days later.
