Every year there are festivals when the cows come down from their mountain pastures in the fall. They come down with their dariy farmers/herders/cowhands, bells ringing. And the important ones (cows, that is), get bedecked with giant bells, decorative collars, and flowers for the occasion. Actually, more to the point, they get small pine trees strapped to their heads, decorated with paper flowers.

They kick up a lot of dust! (And leave a lot of...well, let's just say we all took our shoes off before coming into the house...)
